ANALISIS PREDIKSI KEBANGKRUTAN PERUSAHAAN DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE Z-SCORE PADA PERUSAHAAN OTOMOTIF DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA

The purpose of this research is to find out the way to predict bankruptcy potency and to find out whether Altman Z-score method can reflect the real condition of automotive industries which are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange.
The research objects are 5 automotive companies which are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The report is using Statement of Financial Position and Consolidated Statements of Comprehensive Income. Altman Z-score is used in this research in order to predict bankruptcy potency by calculating the ratios in used, then the Z-score values of each company which is based on Z-score equation is calculated. The determination of cut off point is based on Z-score criteria which are generated by each company.
After the research process is done by using Altman Z-score it is found that this method is inaccurate in predicting bankruptcy potency of automotive companies which are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange as the objects in this research. The shown result is not match with the real fact. The company which has been predicted to undergo bankruptcy does not undergo bankruptcy in 2013.
